From crowd safety to human design

Hello,

Would you believe this is the third time writing a draft for this newsletter? At first I launched into some story, the second I shared a recent experience (which I also recorded), and now I just want to scrap all that and share the latest creations with you.

Safety Sistas Ep 10

First up we have two new episodes of Safety Sistas; Episode 10 with Alex, May-Britt and Roxana whom I met at IBIT 2024 and are part of the inspiring YES Group (a Yourope project), advocating for event safety at festivals and venues in Europe. I also shared some thoughts on how IBIT conference was organised and what other event organisers can learn from them.

Safety Sistas Ep 11

The latest episode of Safety Sistas is also out with John Dundas. I have been looking forward to chatting with John on spectrum and radio management for months as I had so many questions about how this invisible magic works. We dive into how working on a submarine prepared him for major events, the importance of the red button, and how code words should be abandoned.

Membership

I recorded a recent experience over on my membership, about how letting go of what is fake, or not true, of who we are, is the only way our authentic self will emerge. 18. Darkness before dawn is out now.

YouTube

I’ve also been going through my video archives and realising that I had a bunch of videos recorded but never posted them? (I don’t know either). So here’s two; one on how letting go of our idea of “me” actually allows us to be present and appreciate life, and the origin story of crowd safety. I love how varied my work is!

Human Design Podcast

My friend Brianna and I have launched a podcast called Human Design or Something. Our first episode is out now, where we discuss our lives through the useful lens of the mechanics of how our energy works. (It goes straight into detail so may be confusing for HD beginners.)

Work with me

I have availability to take on one crowd safety project if you are looking for support at your venue, event or crowded space.

I also have space for one 1:1 mentoring if you are looking for support and guidance in an area of your life or work. It can be a one off power hour or package of weekly/biweekly sessions.

From the archives

To compliment the youtube video on the origin story of crowd safety, I have dug out The Root Cause of Crowd Disasters, adapted from my masters dissertation in the impact of regulation and legislation on crowd safety at outdoor events.

That’s it for now, wishing you a sparkling December! ✨
